What is the course like?
Teddy Eddie focuses on communication. Classes are structured to enable children to absorb many elements of English in the same way that they would in their mother tongue. In class, English is used for communication – and also for commands and instructions.
Frequent repetition and consolidation of the material helps young learners develop language habits. Reinforcing the meaning with movement and gesture promotes better understanding and memorisation. It is also a form of play that children enjoy, which contributes to better learning outcomes.

Children are introduced to the language in a positive atmosphere, facilitated by the teacher with the help of the cuddly and playful Teddy Eddie.

Levels
Start
2 to 3-year-olds
Children start to react to English commands and learn their first sentences, songs and stories in a foreign language. The main goal is to instil in them a love of the English language!
Standard
4 to 5-year-olds
Children start to have their first conversations in English. They act out stories and real-life scenes, and play games that require them to use English.
ABC
5 to 6-year-olds
Children use full sentences, retell stories and have conversations in English in class. They also start their adventure with reading in English!
Superhero
7-year-olds
A level for first graders. Children learn to speak in full sentences. They acquire an abundance of words, sentences and phrases and may start to use them spontaneously outside the classroom.
Eddie’s story!
What were the beginnings of Teddy Eddie, a method which is now used to teach tens of thousands of young learners both in and outside Poland? It all started with three women – mothers and methodology experts – who were looking for the perfect language course for preschool children. They wanted to be able to ensure high quality content, cater for children’s needs and support their development, but no course available on the market seemed to meet their requirements.
And that is why Diana Kubica, Magda Duchnik and Ola Komada, working with a team of professionals, created Teddy Eddie – an effective English language programme for 2 to 7-year olds.

Authors of the method
Diana Kubica
A Polish and English teacher by training, Diana became an author, entrepreneur and boss through experience. She’s the owner of the CLAN CITY schools and Cambridge English PL 277 Authorised Examination Centre, and a co-owner of Edu Bears. She has more or less always known intuitively how to teach effectively, and has been using this gift for years to create successful teaching methods. She believes that exploring the world broadens people’s horizons and changes them for the better, and that in this the English language is invaluable, not to say indispensable.
Magda Duchnik
The owner of the CLAN4YOU language school in Tarnowskie Góry, Magda’s ambition and dream is to unlock the full potential of every child. Every summer, she organises language camps for children and teenagers, and is currently working on a holiday retreat project for mothers with young children, involving language learning activities for both. Outside of work, she is mum to Alicja and Kuba, a lover of Monty Python-style British humour and a fan of Italian cuisine.
Ola Komada
The CEO of Edu Bears, a company whose mission is to make a positive impact on the language education of the very young, Ola believes that all children have huge potential that just needs to be skilfully drawn out. She promotes the ideas of relational education that focus on respecting young learners and taking care of their well-being. She is an active methodology consultant, English teacher and dedicated mum, which all means that she is really close to the subjects she deals with every day.

An ambitious educational pathway
Teddy Eddie, an English programme for children aged 2-7, is the first stage of our educational pathway. It is followed by Savvy Ed – a method for children aged 8-11. After that, students can progress to the Edward’s League method, which is intended for 11 to 14-year-olds. Our learning pathway makes it possible for children to achieve an advanced level of language proficiency while still at primary school.
